CAIRO – 12 June 2026: Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, held separate telephone conversations on Friday with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and Qatari counterpart 

 

The discussions focused on the latest developments in US-Iran negotiations and ongoing efforts to secure an agreement. During the calls, Minister Abdelatty was briefed by his Iranian counterpart on the progress of the talks. 

 

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's strong support for any diplomatic breakthrough capable of reducing regional tensions, ending current hostilities, and enhancing broader Middle East stability.

 

Following up on a recent high-level visit to Cairo, Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a phone call on Friday to continue bilateral consultations on regional developments.

 

The talks centered on the ongoing crisis regarding Iran. Minister Abdelatty welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to cancel planned military strikes against Iran, expressing hope that all parties would seize this opening to resolve outstanding disputes through peaceful dialogue. 

 

Additionally, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast position on Gulf security, stating that Egypt strictly rejects any threats to the sovereignty of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, which remain an integral part of Egyptian and Arab national security.
