EMA expects very hot weather Thursday; Upper Egypt hits 43°C

CAIRO - 10 June 2026: Hot and very hot weather will prevail across the country on Thursday, especially in Upper Egypt, where temperatures will hit 43 degrees Celsius, according to Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA). 

Temperatures are expected to gradually decrease to 40 and 41 degrees Celsius in the following days.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced the expected temperatures across the country from Thursday, June 11, 2026, until Monday, June 15, 2026 

Details of the Weather Forecast for the Coming Days

The Authority explained that maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta will range between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius during the coming days, with hot weather during the day and moderate temperatures at night. Meanwhile, the North Coast will record relatively lower temperatures ranging between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius.

The Authority expects that the northern regions of Upper Egypt will experience very hot weather during the day, with maximum temperatures remaining stable at 37 degrees Celsius throughout the period. 

The weather forecast confirmed that high humidity levels increase the perceived temperature by values ranging between one and two degrees Celsius, which doubles the feeling of heat, especially during the afternoon hours.

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt:

- Thursday, June 11: High 35°C - Low 23°C

- Friday, June 12: High 35°C - Low 22°C

- Saturday, June 13: High 34°C - Low 23°C

- Sunday, June 14: High 35°C - Low 23°C

- Monday, June 15: High 35°C - Low 24°C

North Coast:

- Thursday, June 11: High 28°C - Low 20°C

- Friday, June 12: High 29°C - Low 20°C

- Saturday, June 13: High 28°C - Low 20°C

- Sunday, June 14: High 28°C - Low 20°C

- Monday, June 15: High 29°C - Low 21°C

Northern Upper Egypt:

- Thursday, June 11: High 37°C - Low 22°C

- Friday, June 12: High 37°C - Low 23°C
