CAIRO – 7 June 2026: Egypt's Armed Forces organized an event to introduce the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow (EIAS 2026), which is scheduled to be held in El Alamein City next September, according to a military statement.

The upcoming edition is expected to bring together more than 250 exhibitors from 50 countries, feature more than 50 aerial displays, and attract nearly 12,000 visitors, said a statement by the army spokesman.

More than 100 aircraft of various types are also expected to participate, alongside official delegations from countries around the world.

The event was attended by Commander of the Air Force Lt. Gen. Amr Saqr, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El Hefny, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency Maged Ismail, a number of Armed Forces commanders, military and commercial attachés, and representatives of major international aviation companies.

The head of the organizing committee said the Armed Forces are keen to organize the event to a high standard that will earn the appreciation of participating countries, companies and visitors.

‘Gateway for Africa, ME’

The exhibition is one of the leading aviation events in Africa and the Middle East, he said.

It aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise among participants and showcase the latest aviation and space technologies amid rapid global developments in both fields.

The event featured a presentation by the organizing committee and a documentary highlighting the success of the exhibition's previous edition in Egypt, which attracted major companies and institutions from the aviation and space sectors.

The statement emphasized that the exhibition serves as a gateway for Africa and the Middle East to the latest aviation and space technologies, drawing interest from both military and civilian stakeholders.

Launched in 2024, the exhibition aims to bring together aerospace, defence and space sector stakeholders from across Africa and the Middle East.

The event is organized with the participation of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, the Egyptian Air Force, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Egyptian Space Agency and EgyptAir, alongside leading industry companies and organizations.

Over three days, the 2026 edition will feature aerial displays, a specialized conference and an aerospace exhibition, providing a platform for industry professionals to exchange expertise, explore emerging technologies and discuss business opportunities.
