CAIRO - 28 May 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that Thursday, May 28, 2026, the second day of Eid al-Adha, will see mild spring-like weather in the early morning, becoming warm during the day along the northern coast, hot in Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt, and very hot in southern Upper Egypt.
 
Temperatures will be mild to cool at night.
 
 
Weather phenomena:
 
- Mist (from 4 to 8 AM): Mist is expected on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. It may be dense at times on some roads.
 
- Light rain is expected in parts of the northern coastal governorates and northern Lower Egypt, possibly thundery at times (approximately 20% chance). Rain is also expected intermittently in parts of the northwestern coastal governorates.
 
- Wind activity ranging from 30 to 40 km/h: across most areas, intermittently.
 
- Maritime navigation disruptions: in some areas of the Red Sea coast and the Gulf of Suez, with wind speeds of 40 to 50 km/h and wave heights of 2 to 3 meters.
 
- A slight chance of low cloud formation over parts of southern Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt, with a very slight chance of light rain (approximately 20%) in some areas.
 
- Thunderstorms (approximately 20%) may be accompanied by strong winds due to downdrafts from below the thunderstorms in some areas.
 
 
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today as follows:

High: 31°C
 
Low: 20°C
 
 
Alexandria:
 
High: 27°C
 
Low: 19 degrees.
 
 
Matrouh:
 
High: 24 degrees.
 
Low: 19 degrees.
 
 
Sohag:
 
High: 34 degrees.
 
Low: 20 degrees.
 
 
Qena:
 
High: 36 degrees.
 
Low: 23 degrees.
 
 
Aswan:
 
High: 37 degrees.
 
Low: 24 degrees.
