CAIRO - 26 May 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty had a phone call on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan to discuss ongoing efforts aiming at reducing regional tensions and promoting diplomatic solutions for current crises.
During the call, the two top diplomats praised the growing bilateral relations between Egypt and Türkiye, reaffirming their commitment to advancing cooperation across various fields in a way that serves the mutual interests of both friendly nations and supports the aspirations of their peoples for further development and prosperity.
The talks addressed regional developments and efforts to contain escalation, with both sides exchanging views on the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Both sides stressed the importance of supporting the negotiation track and relying on diplomacy and dialogue as the only viable path toward de-escalation and ending conflict.
They also expressed hope that all parties would adopt responsible stances and prioritize diplomatic solutions in resolving disputes.
