CAIRO – 16 May 2026: Minister of State for Military Production Dr. Eng. Salah Suleiman Jumblatt received Ambassador Aamir Shaukat, Ambassador of Pakistan to Cairo, to discuss avenues of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly defense industries. 

 

According to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, Jumblatt was invited to participate in the International Defense Industries Exhibition “IDEAS 2026,” in Pakistan.

 

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Military Production headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister welcomed the Pakistani ambassador and his accompanying delegation, emphasizing the deep historical ties between Egypt and Pakistan.

 

Jumblatt presented an overview of the Ministry of Military Production’s activities, highlighting the advanced military products manufactured by its affiliated companies in accordance with the highest international quality standards. He also reviewed key civilian products produced using surplus manufacturing capacity, in addition to the technological capabilities available within the ministry’s companies, including modern production lines and highly qualified technical and engineering personnel.

 

The meeting included discussions on several areas of mutual interest, particularly opportunities for exchanging expertise, transferring technology, and strengthening industrial partnerships between Egyptian military production companies and Pakistani firms operating in the defense industries sector.

 

During the talks, the minister stressed that industrial development now depends on the integration of qualified human resources, advanced technological infrastructure, and the modernization of production systems. He noted that the Ministry of Military Production is committed to investing in human capital, localizing modern technologies within its affiliated companies, and adopting advanced manufacturing systems in line with presidential directives aimed at strengthening national capabilities.

 

For his part, the Pakistani ambassador praised the advanced manufacturing and technological capabilities of Egypt’s military production companies and commended the fruitful cooperation between the two sides. He expressed his aspiration to further strengthen bilateral partnerships in a way that supports the deep-rooted relations between Egypt and Pakistan, affirming that cooperation between the two countries continues to grow, particularly in the military and security sectors.

 

The ambassador also invited the Minister of State for Military Production to participate in the International Defense Industries Exhibition “IDEAS 2026,” scheduled to take place next November. He highlighted the exhibition’s importance as a major international platform for exploring cooperation and partnership opportunities in the defense industries field.

 

The meeting was attended by Engineer Tariq Bakheet, Vice Chairman of the National Authority for Military Production and Managing Director; Engineer Mohamed Sherine Mohamed, Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office; and a number of ministry and authority officials.

 

Representing the Pakistani Embassy were Colonel Shahid Javed, Military Attaché at the embassy, and Dr. Talha Jamil, Embassy Secretary.
