Egypt’s FM and Kuwaiti counterpart discuss regional developments

CAIRO – 15 May 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, received a phone call on Friday from Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait.

The call addressed the rapidly evolving situation in the region. Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with the State of Kuwait and all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, emphasizing Egypt’s firm and unwavering position that the security and stability of GCC states are an integral part of Egyptian national security.

He also affirmed Egypt’s full support for all measures taken by Kuwait to safeguard its security and resources.

The two ministers exchanged views and assessments on the latest regional developments and the intensive efforts underway to de-escalate tensions.

Minister Abdelatty stressed the importance of supporting the negotiation process, noting that dialogue and diplomatic solutions remain the only way to contain the current crisis.

At the conclusion of the call, both sides agreed on the importance of continuing close coordination and consultation between the two brotherly countries regarding various regional challenges and working together to support security and stability across the region.
