CAIRO - 12 May 2026: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Tuesday with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby on the sidelines of the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Sisi emphasized Egypt's commitment to developing political, economic, and developmental ties, building on the results of the joint committee held in Cairo in November 2025, according to a statement by presidency spokesperson Mohamed el-Shennawy.

Déby expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support, particularly in health, trade, and infrastructure, noting his desire to deepen investment ties.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional issues, stressing the need to protect national institutions and resolve regional crises through peaceful means to preserve state sovereignty.
