President of the Republic of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, received Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt
CAIRO - 9 May 2026: President of the Republic of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, received Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, Saturday on the sidelines of the Prime Minister's participation in the Djiboutian President's inauguration ceremony, representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Madbouly conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Djiboutian counterpart on his re-election for a new term, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the great confidence the Djiboutian people have placed in him in appreciation of his leading role in guiding the country and achieving comprehensive development.
The Prime Minister also reiterated President El-Sisi's invitation to the Djiboutian President to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity, with the aim of strengthening the political momentum in the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries at all levels.
During the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly emphasized the deep historical and fraternal ties between the two countries, built on solid foundations of cooperation, mutual respect, and a shared destiny. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to continuous coordination with the sisterly Republic of Djibouti on issues of common interest at both the regional and international levels.
The Prime Minister also discussed the strategic cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including the development of ports and free zones, the enhancement of infrastructure and logistics, and cooperation in the electricity, energy, economy, agriculture, and health sectors, all of which will benefit the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Djibouti affirmed that the relationship between the two countries represents a model of cooperation, underpinned by historical, cultural, and political bonds.
The President of Djibouti also requested that his sincere greetings be conveyed to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
