CAIRO – 5 May 2026: Major General Dr. Khaled Maghawer, Governor of North Sinai, accompanied the Belgian Ambassador to Egypt, Bart De Groof, and his diplomatic delegation on a field visit to the Rafah Crossing on Tuesday.
The visit was part of an official tour aimed at observing the humanitarian and logistical efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state in the region. During the tour, the Governor provided a detailed briefing on the operational mechanisms of the crossing, highlighting its vital role in receiving wounded Palestinians and facilitating the transit of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
Governor Maghawer emphasized that Egypt continues its intensive efforts to ensure the organized and safe flow of relief supplies, reflecting its unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people during the current crisis. He also noted the ongoing coordination among various stakeholders to streamline logistical procedures and maintain high levels of readiness and efficiency at the crossing.
