CAIRO - 31 July 2017: The Muslim Council of Elders under Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al Tayyeb launched Sunday a peace convoy to Colombia as part of dispatching several convoys to world countries to disseminate peaceful and coexistence values and attain interaction between Muslims and non-Muslims.

The convoy is scheduled to organize several activities, including lectures on the moderate image of Islam.

The convoy will also organize several meetings with officials at the Colombian government along with several symposiums with youths at Saint Thomas University along with other Colombian universities.

In a statement on Sunday, Al Azhar said the peace convoys aim to entrench values of coexistence and dialogue among the various societies.
