Heatwave peaks across Egypt on Thursday and Friday

CAIRO - 30 April 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced that Friday and Saturday will see the peak of the heatwave, with temperatures in Greater Cairo reaching 32 degrees Celsius and Upper Egypt ranging between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius.

 

Thursday will see a continuation of the heatwave across most of the country, with hot weather prevailing during the day, moderate temperatures along the northern coast, and cooler temperatures at night.

Cairo: Low 17°C, High 29°C.

 

New Administrative Capital: Low 16°C, High 30°C.

 

Alexandria: Low 15°C, High 24°C.

 

Marsa Matrouh: Low 13°C, High 23°C.

 

Arish: Low 15°C, High 24°C.

 

Rafah: Low 16°C, High 24°C.

 

Saint Catherine: Low 10°C, High 23°C.

 

Sharm El Sheikh: Low 23°C, High 31°C.

 

Marsa Alam: Low 23°C, High 32°C.

 

Shalateen: Low 21°C, High 31°C.

 

Halayeb: Low 23°C, High 27°C.

 

Qena: Low 19°C, High 35°C.

 

Aswan: Low 20°C, High 35°C.
