Egypt condemns terrorist attacks in Mali

CAIRO – 27 April 2026: Egypt issued a strong condemnation on Monday regarding the recent terrorist attacks in Mali, which resulted in the death of the Malian Minister of Defense and several other casualties.

In an official statement, Egypt expressed its full solidarity with the people and government of Mali in the face of these assaults, reaffirming its rejection of all acts that undermine the country's security and stability.

Egypt reiterated its firm stance against all forms of terrorism and extremism, emphasizing the urgent need for concerted regional and international efforts to combat the phenomenon.

The statement stressed the importance of cutting off funding sources and confronting the extremist ideologies that fuel violence, particularly within the Sahel region and across the African continent.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Egyptian citizens currently in Mali to strictly adhere to the instructions of local authorities and to exercise extreme caution to ensure their safety.
