CAIRO - 18 APRIL 2026: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met Comfort Ero, president and chief executive of the International Crisis Group, on Saturday in a sideline meeting during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, as discussions focused on the region’s fast-moving crises and efforts to contain escalation.

According to the statement, the two sides exchanged views on the overlapping challenges facing the region and reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and support security and stability.

For her part, Ero praised what she described as Egypt’s central role in addressing regional crises, stressing the group’s keenness to maintain coordination and consultation with Cairo in the coming period in support of restoring stability.

The meeting reflected Egypt’s continued diplomatic engagement with international policy and conflict-resolution actors as it seeks to strengthen de-escalation efforts across a region facing multiple flashpoints.
