Hot weather expected in Cairo this week
CAIRO - 13 April 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has warned of a gradual rise in temperatures across most of the country until the end of the week.
The Authority indicated that this rise will peak on Wednesday, April 15th, and Thursday, April 16th, with maximum temperatures exceeding 30 and 35 degrees Celsius in some areas.
The General Authority of Meteorology expects that Monday will witness a continued gradual rise in temperatures across most of the country.
The weather will be cool in the early morning, warm during the day on the northern coasts, hot in Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt, and very hot in southern Upper Egypt, becoming cool at night.
Weather phenomena:
Mist (from 4 to 9 AM): It may be dense at times on some roads leading to and from the north of the country, including Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai.
Dust in the air during the day: in some exposed areas of Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt.
Wind activity (speeds ranging from 30 to 35 km/h): in areas from Salloum to Siwa and parts of South Sinai at intervals.
A slight chance of low cloud formation: over scattered areas of the North Coast, Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities, which may result in light, scattered drizzle in some areas.

High: 28°C
Low: 17°C
- Alexandria:
High: 25°C
Low: 15°C
- Marsa Matrouh:
High: 25°C
Low: 14°C
- Sohag:
High: 31°C
Low: 15°C
- Weather in Qena:
High 32°C
Low 16°C
- Weather in Aswan:
High 33°C
Low 19°C
