CAIRO – 5 April 2026: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said Egypt looks forward to the second edition of the Egyptian-US Economic Forum later this year, which is expected to open new avenues for investment partnerships.

Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting on Sunday with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham), according to a foreign ministry statement.

He said the upcoming forum would help strengthen institutional ties between the business communities in Egypt and the United States, building on the success of its inaugural edition held in Cairo in May 2025, which saw broad participation from major American companies.

The meeting discussed ways to advance economic cooperation and further reinforce the strategic partnership between the two countries, the statement said.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding economic, trade, and investment ties with the United States, praising AmCham’s active role in supporting bilateral economic relations.

He also reviewed recent structural reforms aimed at improving the business climate and attracting foreign investment, stressing that boosting foreign direct investment remains a top government priority.

The foreign minister highlighted Egypt’s competitive advantages, including its developed infrastructure, in addition to its extensive network of free trade agreements, which positions it as a key gateway to markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

He added that Egypt looks forward to enhancing cooperation across several sectors, including industry, logistics, energy, digital infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and tourism.

Abdelatty underscored the resilience of the Egyptian economy in the face of successive regional and global challenges.

He noted that the government is pressing ahead with its comprehensive reform program to maintain economic stability and ensure a secure environment for investors.

The meeting included an interactive discussion, during which the foreign minister listened to proposals from the delegation on improving the business environment and boosting trade and investment.

He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to maintaining close engagement with the business community to address challenges and support successful partnerships.
