CAIRO- 4 April 2026: Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s media office, firmly denied rumors circulating on social media about Egypt being hit by a “bloody storm” this week or next.

In a phone interview on the “This Morning” program on Extra News, she confirmed that these reports are entirely baseless and urged citizens not to be influenced by rumors intended to spread panic.

She explained that the storm in question affected eastern Libya last Wednesday and Thursday before moving toward the Mediterranean Sea and Greece, with Egypt only experiencing light dust and sand in the Salloum area.

Dr. Ghanem reassured viewers that the weather this week will be stable and spring-like, noting that temperatures are currently around the seasonal average.

She added that the weather will be warm during the day and cool at night, with highs in Greater Cairo reaching 24°C.

She also noted that southern governorates will see slightly higher temperatures, ranging from warm to hot during the day. Additionally, there is a slight chance of light rain in the far south and parts of the southern Red Sea mountain range, emphasizing that such rainfall is normal and not a cause for concern.
