Houthis threatens direct military intervention in regional war if conflict escalates

CAIRO – 28 March 2026: Pro‑Iranian Yemen’s Houthi movement (Ansar Allah) spokesman Yahia Sarie warned that Houthi fighters are ready for direct military intervention in the widening regional conflict between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran and its regional allies on the other, in the following cases:

• If any US alliances joined the United States and Israel against Iran and its Axis of Jihad and Resistance (in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen).

• The use of the Red Sea by US and Israel to carry out hostile operations against the Iran or any Muslim country. “We will not allow this,” he said.

• The continuation of escalation against Iran and its axis of resistence, as dictated by the theater of military operations.

He also warned against any unjust measures aimed at tightening the siege on the Yemeni people. 

“We affirm that our military operations target the Israeli and American enemy to thwart the Zionist scheme and do not target any Muslim people,” he added.
