CAIRO – 26 March 2026: Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, visited a center for displaced Lebanese (Rawdat Omar Al-Onsi) during his visit to Beirut on Thursday, following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The Foreign Minister met with affected families and conveyed a message of full support from the Egyptian political leadership and people.

He stressed that Egypt will spare no effort in standing by Lebanon to overcome the current crisis. Furthermore, he highlighted the humanitarian aid delivered to the Lebanese people as a reflection of the historic and fraternal ties that unite the two nations.

Minister Abdelatty also met on Thursday with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut, conveying a message of support and solidarity from the Egyptian political leadership and people.

Minister Abdelatty and President Aoun discussed regional developments in light of the ongoing instability plaguing the region. The Foreign Minister began the meeting by conveying the sincere greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, emphasizing the Egyptian leadership's directives to provide all forms of urgent support to Lebanon.

He noted that the dispatch of an emergency relief shipment—weighing approximately 1,000 tons—was a direct implementation of President El-Sisi's directives. The aid serves as a practical message of support to alleviate human suffering and underscores Egypt's firm commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity at this critical juncture.

For his part, the Lebanese President expressed his deep gratitude to President El-Sisi for Egypt's historic and honorable stances. He commended Egypt's swift response in providing relief to displaced persons and meeting their humanitarian needs, stating that such support embodies the depth of fraternal ties and reflects Egypt's pivotal role as a cornerstone of regional security and stability.
