CAIRO – 24 March 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) has raised its alert level to maximum across all branches nationwide in preparation for supporting state authorities during a period of predicted unstable weather.

This escalation comes in response to warnings from the Egyptian Meteorological Authority regarding a severe weather system expected to impact the country on Wednesday and Thursday, March 25th and 26th.

The ERC’s central operations room, which operates 24/7, is continuously monitoring the readiness of local branches to respond to the consequences of the storm. Additionally, the organization is receiving reports and emergency calls from citizens via its dedicated hotline (15322).

The Egyptian Red Crescent has confirmed that its emergency response units and specialized flood response teams are fully equipped, trained, and ready for immediate deployment across all governorates.

The ERC urged citizens to strictly adhere to instructions issued by relevant authorities and to avoid areas prone to water accumulation or flash flooding. The organization also emphasized its ongoing coordination with government agencies to provide relief services, logistical support, first aid, and direct assistance to affected areas, ensuring a rapid and effective response throughout the country.
