CAIRO - 22 MARCH 2026: Iranian media outlets reported large explosions in Isfahan late Saturday, saying they were caused by U.S.-Israeli airstrikes as the war continues to widen and intensify.

There was no immediate independent confirmation of what was hit, or whether the blasts caused casualties or major damage. U.S. and Israeli officials also had not publicly commented at the time of the reports.

Isfahan is one of Iran’s major cities and a highly sensitive location in the conflict, which is why any reported strikes there quickly draw attention and raise fears of another escalation step.
