MANAMA – 21 March 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday made brief visits to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, underscoring Egypt’s solidarity and full support for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states amid current regional developments.
He affirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all forms of support to preserve security and stability in the region, the Presidency said in a statement.
The visits reaffirmed Egypt’s consistent condemnation of unjustified attacks on the territories of its Gulf neighbors and efforts to undermine their security, stability, and national resources.
In Bahrain, El-Sisi met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, renewing Egypt’s full support for the brotherly country amid difficult regional circumstances.

He condemned Iranian attacks on Bahrain, highlighted Egypt’s intensive diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and end the conflict, given the serious security and economic implications of the ongoing escalation.
The president also lauded King Hamad’s wisdom and measures to maintain regional stability and reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all forms of support to the Bahraini brothers.
Egypt-Gulf Security ‘Indivisible’
El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt and the Gulf states share a common fate, and that their collective security is indivisible, describing Gulf security as an extension of Egypt’s national security.
The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen joint efforts to contain the current tension and promote the concept of collective Arab security.
King Hamad welcomed El-Sisi’s visit as a reflection of the deep brotherly relations between the two countries.

The king praised Egypt’s longstanding support for the security and stability of Bahrain and other Gulf states. He also expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s long-standing and crucial support for Arab and Islamic countries, describing Egypt as a safety valve, according to the statement.
The two leaders affirmed continued coordination between Egypt and Bahrain to face shared challenges and restore peace in the region.
The leaders also exchanged Eid Al-Fitr greetings before President El-Sisi departed Bahrain.
Supporting Saudi Measures
In Saudi Arabia, El-Sisi held a session of talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stressing Egypt’s support for the Kingdom’s steps to protect its security, stability, and the well-being of its people.
El-Sisi emphasized that the kingdom’s security is inseparable from Egypt’s own, and that the Gulf’s collective security forms an extension of Egypt’s national security.

He praised the wisdom of the Saudi king and crown prince and reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all forms of support to maintain regional security and stability.
‘Clear Messages to Iran’
The president also reviewed Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate tensions, including clear messages conveyed to Iran calling for an immediate halt to attacks.
Egypt’s messages to Iran also urged a return to negotiations to preserve the countries’ stability, sovereignty and peoples’ resources in line with international law and the United Nations Charter, the Presidency affirmed.
The Saudi crown prince welcomed El-Sisi’s visit, emphasizing the historical depth of relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and expressing gratitude for Egypt’s solidarity with the kingdom and GCC states.

He noted that Egypt’s stance in the current crisis reflects its historic role as the heart of the Arab world, affirming that the Kingdom will not forget this position.
El-Sisi and bin Salman agreed to continue intensive consultation and coordination and exchanged Eid Al-Fitr greetings.
El-Sisi returned to Cairo on Saturday after concluding the two visits.
