CAIRO – 19 March 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended his warmest congratulations to the Egyptian people and the peoples of Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

“I extend my sincere congratulations to the great Egyptian people and to the peoples of our Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr,” President El-Sisi shared via his official social media accounts.

“I pray to God Almighty that He returns this blessed time to us all with goodness, prosperity, and blessings, and that He bestows upon us cohesion, unity, and harmony to achieve our peoples' aspirations for security, peace, and stability. May you all be well every year, and may Egypt remain under God's protection and care,” the President added.

Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta announced on Thursday that Friday is the first day of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH and the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

It said in a statement that it has observed the crescent moon of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH after sunset on Thursday, the 29th of Ramadan, through its Sharia and scientific committees spread throughout the country.

Based on the results of this correct and legitimate visual observation, the sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal has been confirmed. Therefore, the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta announced that Friday is the first day of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH.

Dar Al-Ifta extended its congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, wishing him continued health and well-being. It also extended its congratulations to the Egyptian people, and to all the Presidents, kings, and princes of Arab and Islamic countries, and to all Muslims everywhere, praying to God Almighty that He may bring these blessed days back to Egypt and to them all with prosperity, goodness, blessings, security, and peace.
