CAIRO – 19 March 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecasted unstable weather across several regions of the country during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr, which is set to begin on Friday.
The EMA reported that thunderstorms are forming over eastern Egypt, particularly along the eastern coast, Sinai, and the Suez Canal cities, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, sometimes heavy and thundery.
Scattered areas across the country are also experiencing low to medium-level clouds, with a chance of light to moderate rain at intervals.
Wind activity is expected in parts of Upper Egypt and along the Red Sea coast, which could stir up sand and dust, reducing visibility in some areas.
The EMA urged citizens to exercise caution during periods of unstable weather, especially while driving on highways, to wear suitable clothing, and to stay away from trees and light poles during thunderstorms.
