Egypt, Saudi Arabia sign agreement to exempt short-stay visas for holders of diplomatic passports
CAIRO - 19 March 2026: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, signed an agreement Wednesday between the governments of Egypt and Saudi Arabia regarding the mutual exemption from short-stay visas for holders of diplomatic and special passports.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the Ministerial Consultative Meeting in Riyadh on March 18, 2026.
This agreement reflects the depth and strength of the relations between the two brotherly countries and underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral relations across various fields, serving the common interests of both nations.
The agreement aims to facilitate the movement of citizens of both countries holding these passport categories, based on the principle of reciprocity.
