Unstable weather expected - file
CAIRO - 18 March 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority forecasts continued unstable weather conditions across most of the country on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
This will be accompanied by varying intensities of rain, occasional thunder, and active winds ranging from 30 to 50 km/h, causing sandstorms and dust storms in some areas.
A drop in temperatures between 3 to 5 degrees Celsius is also expected across most of the country.
Details of the weather forecast:
Light to moderate rain (occasionally thundery): Rain may be heavy at times in parts of the northern coast and the Nile Delta, potentially reaching the level of flash floods in some areas of the Gulf of Aqaba and Sinai at intervals.
Light rain: Rain may be moderate at times (approximately 30 percent chance) in parts of the Suez Canal cities, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt, with a 30 percent chance of moderate rain in some areas at intervals.
Wind activity (30 to 50 km/h): Across most areas, winds may stir up sand and dust in some regions, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1000 meters in parts of Upper and Lower Egypt, the Western Desert, and the Red Sea Governorate at intervals.
