This comes in accordance with the directives of Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Giza.
The Giza Governorate emphasized raising the level of preparedness to its highest degree across all service sectors, stressing the need for complete vigilance to prevent any violations and to take strict measures against violators, particularly regarding: illegal construction, market regulation, and ensuring the provision of essential services to citizens during the Eid period.
Eid prayers
The Governorate confirmed the readiness of all mosques and designated prayer areas throughout the governorate to receive worshippers for Eid prayers.
Committees and an operations room have been formed to oversee preparations for the Eid prayers, and cleaning and sanitization campaigns have been intensified in and around mosques and prayer areas in anticipation of the arrival of worshippers.
Public parks and hospitals
Furthermore, directives have been issued to prepare public parks and gardens to welcome citizens and to improve public lighting in designated recreational areas.
A state of emergency has been declared in all hospitals and health units, with an increase in the number of doctors and nursing staff in emergency and reception departments to ensure immediate response to any medical emergencies.
A central operations room was activated, where it operates 24/7 and is linked to subsidiary rooms in directorates, centers, and districts, in order to monitor and respond immediately to any emergencies or sudden events.
The governorate directed the heads of districts, centers, and cities to be present in the field to monitor cleanliness and remove any obstructions from the vicinity of mosques and public squares.
It also stressed the need to intensify oversight of all markets in the governorate's districts, centers, and cities, conducting thorough inspections to seize goods of unknown origin or expired products, and to take the necessary legal measures against violators.
Cleaning campaigns and public transportation
The governorate tasked the Cleaning and Beautification Authority with improving the condition of green spaces in streets, squares, the Nile Corniche, and public parks. It also directed the preparation of central campaigns comprised of workers and equipment to be deployed across various sectors, while continuing general cleaning operations on a shift system throughout the day. The governorate further directed the improvement of places of worship, prayer areas, gardens, parks, and their surrounding areas.
The governor instructed district, city, and town heads, along with the public transportation authority, to review all bus stops to ensure that the displayed fares match the announced rates. These fares must clearly indicate the route and the corresponding fare, reflecting the new increases, to prevent any attempts to unilaterally raise fares or divide routes.
Monitoring markets
During his meeting with district, city, and town heads, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, the Governor of Giza, emphasized the need to intensify joint field campaigns. These campaigns, coordinated between the Supply, Veterinary, and Health Directorates and regulatory bodies, will inspect markets, retail chains, shops, and various outlets to ensure the availability of essential and strategic goods, the clear display of prices, and to prevent any monopolistic practices or attempts to hoard goods.
The governor stressed the importance of dealing decisively with any observed violations and taking the necessary legal measures against violators, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directives and within the framework of the state's efforts to protect citizens and prevent any attempts to manipulate markets or raise prices unjustifiably.
He stressed the need to intensify inspection campaigns targeting butcher shops, general stores, salted and smoked fish markets, cold storage facilities, and food product display areas throughout the governorate to ensure their safety for human consumption and to protect public health.
The governor directed the heads of districts, centers, and cities to increase field inspections throughout the day and to immediately address citizens' complaints related to markets or the availability of goods. He also emphasized the importance of continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure a swift response to any reports received through the government complaints system.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari pointed to the importance of expanding the establishment of daily markets and outlets that provide goods at reasonable prices for citizens. This contributes to achieving market stability and easing the burden on citizens.
