CAIRO – 13 March 2026: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi performed Friday prayers at the Field Marshal Tantawi Mosque, coinciding with national and Armed Forces celebrations for Martyrs' and Veterans' Day.
The service was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production; and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. Also in attendance were several ministers, senior state officials, and high-ranking commanders of the Armed Forces' main branches.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that Sheikh Dr. El-Sayed Hussein Abdel-Bary delivered the Friday sermon. During the address, the Sheikh discussed the virtues of martyrdom in the cause of God and the exalted status of those who sacrifice their lives to preserve the security of the homeland and protect its sacred values.
He emphasized that all citizens should emulate the righteous martyrs and follow in their footsteps, giving their all to ensure the nation's flag continues to fly high.
