A missile launch image circulated by Iranian media as the IRGC claimed “wave 43” strikes using heavy warheads
CAIRO - 12 MARCH 2026: Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched a new “missile wave” using what it described as unusually heavy warheads, in the latest escalation of its strikes during the ongoing regional confrontation.
In a statement carried by regional media, the IRGC said Khorramshahr missiles were launched with warheads weighing two tons, while Emad and Kheibar Shekan missiles were fired with one-ton warheads. It described the attack as “wave 43,” and claimed it targeted the U.S. Fifth Fleet as well as areas in Tel Aviv and Eilat.
There was no immediate independent confirmation of the specific targets or damage. The IRGC framing, including the reference to the Fifth Fleet, was presented as part of what it called operations against U.S. and Israeli threats.
The claim about heavier warheads comes as Iranian state-linked outlets and regional reporting have repeatedly highlighted “super-heavy” missile use in recent waves, alongside warnings of further escalation.
