CAIRO – 1 March 2026: The Egyptian ministries are closely tracking the impact of airspace closures in several countries on the movement of Egyptian exports, particularly perishable agricultural goods, amid the recent military escalation in the region.

In a joint statement on Sunday, the ministries of investment and foreign trade, supply and internal trade, and agriculture said state agencies are monitoring developments around the clock to take the required measures.

The ministries said coordination is underway with relevant authorities, export councils, and private sector companies to respond swiftly and take appropriate measures for each sector.

Efforts are focused on multiple parallel measures, including assessing alternative logistics such as shifting to maritime or land transport and facilitating regulatory and commercial channels to reroute affected shipments.

State authorities also seek to enhance coordination with supply chains and distribution channels to accommodate additional supply in the domestic market without disrupting market balance.

The ministries urged exporters to maintain direct contact with the relevant authorities in each ministry to report any obstacles, allowing immediate action and technical support.

Designated points of contact include the General Organization for Export and Import Control, the Holding Company for Food Industries, and the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine.

The statement added that the ministries will continue round-the-clock joint coordination to take necessary measures that ensure the uninterrupted flow of goods, the protection of producers and exporters, and the conservation of market stability.

Airspaces over several countries including Iran, Israel, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Syria and the UAE have been closed since Saturday, when Iran launched missile attacks on the US military presence in several Arab countries in response to intensive US-Israeli strikes.
