CAIRO - 28 February 2026: Egypt has expressed deep concern over the dangerous military escalation in the region, warning of the risk of the conflict widening and plunging the Middle East into further instability and chaos, with serious repercussions for regional and international security and peace.

In a statement, Egypt said it is closely monitoring the developments with grave concern, stressing that continued escalation threatens to undermine stability across the region and could have far-reaching consequences beyond its borders.

Egypt reiterated the paramount importance of pursuing political and peaceful solutions, emphasizing that military approaches will only lead to further violence and bloodshed. The statement underscored that the only viable path toward lasting security and stability lies in diplomacy, dialogue, and de-escalation.

Cairo also strongly condemned Iran’s actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of brotherly Arab states, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Egypt warned that such actions pose serious risks to the security and stability of Arab countries and the wider region.

The statement stressed the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states, uphold the principle of good neighborliness, and exercise the utmost restraint at this critical moment. Egypt called on all parties to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy in order to prevent the conflict from expanding and the region from sliding into an uncontrollable cycle of escalation that would threaten regional and international peace and security.
