CAIRO – 26 February 2026: Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris expressed his pleasure following a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, emphasizing the deep fraternal relations between the two nations and a mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation.

In a post on his X platform account, Idris stated: "I met with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where we discussed ways to strengthen Sudanese-Egyptian relations and develop cooperation in the areas of water security and stability in Sudan."

He added, "Our discussions also addressed improving the conditions of Sudanese residents in Egypt and the establishment of a new administrative city in Sudan. This partnership remains a fundamental pillar for the prosperity and security of our two brotherly countries." Idris concluded by thanking the President for the warm reception and continued support for the bilateral partnership.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Prime Minister Idris on Thursday in a meeting attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and official delegations from both countries.

Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the President welcomed the Sudanese Prime Minister, emphasizing the depth of the strategic and fraternal relations between Egypt and Sudan.

President El-Sisi praised the convening of the Higher Coordination Committee on water issues—chaired by the prime ministers of both nations—as a vital framework for coordinating positions and safeguarding the interests of both peoples.

For his part, Prime Minister Idris expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s support across various fields. President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering stance in supporting Sudan’s stability and territorial integrity, highlighting Egypt’s regional and global efforts aimed at ending the conflict and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, reiterating the importance of continued coordination and consultation on all issues of mutual interest.
