Aid trucks heading to Gaza - file
CAIRO - 26 February 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent launched its 147th Zad el-Izza convoy Thursday, including a number of trucks carrying urgent humanitarian aid from Egypt to the Gaza Strip.
This comes as part of the initiative's ongoing efforts to coordinate aid to Gaza and includes approximately 6,240 tons of comprehensive humanitarian assistance.
This assistance comprises roughly 3,650 tons of food baskets and flour, about 990 tons of medical, relief, and personal care supplies, and approximately 1,690 tons of petroleum products to operate hospitals and vital facilities, all in support of urgent basic needs within the Gaza Strip.
The Zad Al-Izza Convoy
The Egyptian Red Crescent intensified its delivery of essential winter supplies due to the severe weather conditions.
These supplies included approximately 8,890 winter clothing items, over 26,640 blankets, around 23,750 mattresses, more than 6,910 tarpaulins, 25,800 mats, and approximately 4,665 tents to shelter those affected.
This is part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to support its brothers and sisters in Gaza. The 20th group of wounded, sick, and injured Palestinians arriving and departing was also received and assisted in completing crossing procedures.
Receiving Palestinian patients
The Red Crescent provides Palestinian brothers and sisters with a comprehensive package of relief services, including psychological support for children, family reunification services, distribution of Suhoor and Iftar meals, provision of warm clothing and personal hygiene items, and distribution of "Return Kits" to those returning to the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present on the border since the beginning of the crisis, as the Rafah crossing has not been completely closed from the Egyptian side, and it has continued its readiness in all logistical centers, and its continuous efforts to bring in humanitarian and relief aid that has exceeded 800,000 tons, with the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers in the association.
