CAIRO – 26 February 2026: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lt. Gen. Ashraf Salem Zaher met with Lebanese Army Commander Gen. Rodolphe Haykal and his delegation, currently visiting Egypt.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries, and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, the Egyptian army spokesman, Gharib Abdel Hafez, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Zaher expressed pride in the deep-rooted relations binding the two brotherly countries.
The Lebanese Army commander praised Egypt’s leading regional and international role, expressing hope for further cooperation between the two sides across various military fields.
The meeting was attended by Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with a number of senior commanders from both countries’ armed forces.
