EMA warns of wintry weather across egypt, urgest citizens to wear heavy clothes

CAIRO - 24 February 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of distinctly wintry weather across the country, urging citizens to wear heavy winter clothing.

 

EMA also noted a significant difference of up to 10 degrees Celsius between the maximum and minimum temperatures.

 

Tuesday will see cold to very cold weather in the early morning, becoming milder to warm during the day in most areas, and cold to very cold at night across most regions.

 

Expected temperatures today across the country:

 

Cairo: Low 11°C, High 21°C.

 

New Administrative Capital: Low 10°C, High 21°C.

 

6th of October City: Low 10°C, High 22°C.

 

Alexandria: Low 11°C, High 19°C.

 

Marsa Matrouh: Low 11°C, High 18°C.

 

Arish: Low 11°C, High 18°C.

 

Sharm El Sheikh: Low 17°C, High 23°C.

 

Shalateen: Low 17°C, High 25°C.

 

Halayeb: Low 18°C, High 21°C.

 

Sohag: Low 10°C, High 22°C.

 

Qena: Low 11°C, High 24°C.

 

Luxor: Low 11°C. The high is 23.

 

Aswan: Low 12, High 23.
