CAIRO - 23 February 2026: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on Monday to discuss regional stability and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
In a Monday statement, the presidency spokesperson said the meeting began with a private session followed by a Ramadan Iftar hosted by the Crown Prince. The two leaders emphasized the "deep-rooted" nature of Egyptian-Saudi relations and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors.
The discussions centered heavily on the situation in the Gaza Strip. Both leaders stressed the necessity of adhering to ceasefire agreements and implementing the Trump peace plan. According to the statement, they called for the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and a swift transition to reconstruction efforts. Sisi and bin Salman also reaffirmed their rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians, noting that a comprehensive political process leading to a two-state solution remains the only viable path to peace.
During the visit, Sisi congratulated the Crown Prince on Saudi Founding Day, wishing the kingdom continued prosperity. The talks also touched on the importance of avoiding regional escalation and supporting peaceful solutions through Arab solidarity and non-interference in state sovereignty.
The visit concluded on Monday evening, with the Crown Prince personally accompanying the President to King Abdulaziz International Airport for his departure.
