CAIRO – 23 February 2026: Beheira Governorate hosted a series of events to mark the holy month of Ramadan, highlighted by a massive annual group Iftar at the Damanhour Cultural Complex. Governor Dr. Jacqueline Azer participated in the meal alongside 1,000 sanitation workers from across the governorate.
During the event, Dr. Azer expressed her appreciation for the workers, describing them as a fundamental pillar of society. She praised their dedication and vital role in maintaining the governorate’s aesthetic and civilized appearance.
The Governor affirmed Beheira’s commitment to supporting the workforce and upgrading the sanitation system to improve both the quality of public services and the workers’ standard of living.
Dr. Azer noted that such gatherings are designed to strengthen communication between the governorate and its employees, fostering a "one family" spirit that motivates a positive work environment.
‘Egyptian Kitchen: Made by its Daughters’
In a parallel initiative, Beheira witnessed the launch of the "Egyptian Kitchen... Made by its Daughters" project. This program is implemented by the National Council for Women in Beheira, in coordination with the Ministry of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) and the Decent Life Foundation.
The project aims to empower women by providing professional culinary training. Each day, 10 women are trained to produce 370 hot meals, which are distributed to vulnerable families throughout Ramadan. Over 22 days, the project will benefit 220 women and produce more than 8,000 meals for distribution across the governorate.
Recently, the initiative distributed 370 meals in the village of Ali Mubarak in Wadi El Natroun, bringing the total number of meals provided to those in need over the past three days to 1,110. The project serves as both a social safety net and an economic model for creating sustainable job opportunities for women.
