Egypt condemns deadly mosque attack in Pakistan

CAIRO – 12 February 2026: Egypt expressed strong condemnation of a terrorist attack on a mosque in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, which resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries.

A suicide bombing claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group struck a Shiite mosque packed with worshippers in Islamabad during Friday prayers last week.

The attack killed at least 31 people and injured more than 169 others in the city’s deadliest attack in nearly 20 years.

Authorities said four individuals have been detained on suspicion of facilitating the attack, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged that those responsible would be tracked down and brought to justice.
