CAIRO - 11 February 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with newly appointed ministers on Wednesday, a day after a Cabinet reshuffle introduced new faces and restructured several ministerial portfolios.
The meeting followed their swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Palace, during which the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and several deputy ministers also took the oath of office.
Merit, Efficiency
El-Sisi stressed the need for exerting sustained efforts, based on objective standards, to achieve merit and ensure efficiency within institutions, alongside conducting self-review and maintaining continuous objective performance evaluation.
The president underscored the importance of investing in human capital, qualifying professionals according to the highest standards, and bringing in well-trained talent into state institutions and the private sector alike.

He affirmed the necessity of sustained development and reform across state bodies and the reliance on specialized expertise to achieve these goals.
El-Sisi highlighted the vital role of the media in raising public awareness, countering rumors, promoting refined public discourse, and encouraging creativity.
He reaffirmed his full support for the government and its officials in efforts that serve the public interest.
Cabinet Reshuffle
The Cabinet was reshuffled on Tuesday under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who has held the post since 2018.
El-Sisi witnessed the swearing-in of the newly appointed deputy prime minister for economic affairs, along with 18 ministers, including both new appointees and incumbents whose ministries were merged under the reshuffle.
The House of Representatives approved the major cabinet reshuffle, which included the appointment of new ministers and the merging of several ministries.
Moreover, the posts of Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development were eliminated.
