CAIRO – 5 February 2026: Emine Erdoğan, wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, expressed hope that her visit to Egypt would help strengthen bonds of goodwill between the two countries and open new horizons for a “better shared future,” reflecting the spirit of understanding and rapprochement marking this official visit between Ankara and Cairo.

 

Her remarks came in a post on her social media account, in which she stated: “We hope that our visit will contribute to strengthening the bonds of goodwill between our two countries and supporting a better shared future.”

 

The post was accompanied by photos and videos documenting meetings and tours she conducted during her stay in Cairo alongside Egypt’s First Lady Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, as part of the Turkish president’s official visit to Egypt with a high-level delegation.

"I was delighted to accompany Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, wife of the Turkish President, on a journey through time within the halls of the Grand Egyptian Museum—a source of inspiration for humanity and a testament to the greatness of ancient Egyptian civilization," the Egyptian First Lady wrote on social media.

 

Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El-Sisi also posted photos of the reception, noting that the visit took place in a context that "reflects the depth of the human and cultural ties between our two countries."

 

Earlier that day, President Sisi received President Erdoğan in Cairo for high-level talks aimed at further developing bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkey. Upon his arrival in the Egyptian capital, Erdoğan was welcomed by President Sisi with an official reception ceremony held at Al-Ittihadiya Palace.
