Gradual rise in temperatures expected across Egypt as of Thursday

CAIRO - 4 February 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) revealed that the latest satellite images indicate a gradual rise in temperatures is expected across the country starting Thursday.

 

This comes despite the fact that we are currently in the peak of winter, characterized by low temperatures. The Authority urged citizens not to wear lighter clothing, as winter is still ongoing, to avoid catching colds.

 

Wednesday will see very cold weather in the early morning, becoming milder during the day across most of the country, warm in Upper Egypt, and very cold at night.

 

The Meteorological Authority provided the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today as follows:

 

- Cairo:

 

High: 21°C

 

Low: 12°C

 

- Alexandria:

 

High: 21°C

 

Low: 10°C

 

- Marsa Matrouh:

 

High: 22°C

 

Low 10 degrees.

High 24 degrees.

 

Low 9 degrees.

 

- Weather in Qena

 

High 25 degrees.

 

Low 10 degrees.

 

- Weather in Aswan

 

High 27 degrees.

 

Low 11 degrees.
