CAIRO - 29 July 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Bahrain's Manama on Saturday to attend a quartet meeting on Qatar's crisis with Arab countries, according to a statement from Egypt's Foreign Ministry.

Shoukry was welcomed by his Bahraini counterpart Khaled bin Ahmad Al Khalifa at Bahrain International Airport, the statement added.

Manama meetings are due to convene on Saturday and Sunday to discuss the latest developments on the Arab quartet’s (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain) boycott of Qatar.

The Quartet also convenes to assess developments of the situation and to which extent Qatar is committed to stop supporting terrorism and negative interference in the internal affairs of the four countries.

On June 5, the four Arab nations severed diplomatic ties with Qatar on charges of funding terrorist groups and supporting extremists. Qatar has signed a counter- terrorism understanding memorandum in partnership with the U.S. administration few weeks ago.

on July 25, the Arab quartet added nine individuals and nine entities to their terrorist list, including three Yemeni and six Libyan associations to their terrorist list, stressing that "these new measures come within the framework of monitoring the counter terrorism approach that the four Arab nations determined."
