CAIRO – 22 January 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent launched its 122nd “Zad El Izza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy early this morning, carrying multiple trucks of urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
This initiative comes as part of the organization’s ongoing role as the national mechanism for coordinating and delivering assistance to Gaza.
The convoy included more than 212,000 food baskets, approximately 865 tons of flour, over 1,575 tons of medical supplies and relief items, more than 290 tons of infant formula, and over 1,350 tons of petroleum products, all aimed at meeting the urgent and essential needs of the population in the Gaza Strip.
In parallel, the Egyptian Red Crescent intensified its efforts to provide critical winter assistance. These efforts included the delivery of more than 34,500 winter clothing items, over 21,950 blankets, 600 mattresses, and approximately 550 tents to shelter affected families, as part of Egypt’s continued support for the people of Gaza.
It is also worth noting that the “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, 2025, transported thousands of tons of humanitarian aid, including food supplies, flour, infant formula, medical supplies, therapeutic medicines, personal care items, and fuel.
The Zakat and Charity House, operating under the supervision of His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, announced the completion of its largest camp for displaced Palestinians near the Netzarim area in the Gaza Strip.
The camp is intended to provide shelter for families who lost their homes as a result of the Israeli offensive.
The Zakat and Charity House stated that it has successfully delivered 13 urgent humanitarian aid convoys to the Gaza Strip.
These convoys included more than 25,000 tons of food supplies, clean drinking water, medical aid, and clothing, in addition to over 16,000 fully equipped tents to accommodate families displaced after their homes were destroyed during the Israeli occupation forces’ offensive, which began on October 7, 2023.
