EMA forecasts rising temperatures and mild weather across Egypt

Cairo - 21 January 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced that the latest satellite images indicate a rise in temperatures across most parts of the country, bringing generally mild and stable weather conditions.

According to the EMA, the weather is expected to be cool during the early morning hours, turn warm during the daytime, and become cool again at night in most areas nationwide. The authority also noted the appearance of low clouds over parts of Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities, which may lead to light and insignificant drizzle in limited areas.

 

The EMA outlined the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today as follows:

In Cairo, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 22°C and a low of 15°C. Alexandria will see a high of 21°C and a low of 13°C, while Marsa Matrouh is forecast to record 20°C during the day and 13°C at night.

In Upper Egypt, Sohag is expected to experience a high of 26°C and a low of 12°C, Qena a high of 27°C and a low of 13°C, and Aswan the highest temperatures of the day, with a maximum of 29°C and a minimum of 14°C.

The authority advised citizens to remain mindful of temperature differences between day and night, particularly during the early morning and evening hours.
