CAIRO – 11 January 2026: Egypt has inaugurated a series of new foreign industrial and logistics projects at the Sokhna Industrial Zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), in investments worth tens of millions of dollars.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly launched an extensive tour to open the new facilities, highlighting the government’s efforts to expand the industrial base and attract foreign investment to the SCZONE.
$190-Million Projects
Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the SCZONE, said the day’s inaugurations reflect the growing diversity of the zone’s industrial activities, with total investments exceeding $190 million and creating around 2,700 jobs.

Textile
During the tour, Madbouly inaugurated an integrated textile, printing and dyeing complex, located within the TEDA–Egypt industrial developer area in Sokhna.
Director of the complex said the project spans 20,000 square meters, with investments of $20 million.

The facility has an annual production capacity of 60 million meters of fabric and 10,000 tonnes of yarn, with 70% of output exported, and is expected to create 390 direct and indirect jobs, the director added.
Solar Technology
The prime minister also inaugurated the Elite Solar industrial complex for solar energy technology, also located within TEDA–Egypt, with total investments of $116 million.
One of the projects, Elite Solar Suez Technology, specializes in manufacturing solar cells and electronic components.
Built on an area of 41,835 square meters, the Elite Solar Suez Technology involves investments of $40 million, has a production capacity of 2 gigawatts, and is expected to create about 400 direct jobs and 40 indirect jobs.
The project aims to support the localization of solar energy manufacturing and increase reliance on domestically produced components in renewable energy projects.

Another project within the complex is Elite Solar Green Energy, which focuses on manufacturing solar panels and related components.
This facility spans 35,479 square meters, with investments of $76 million, a production capacity of 3 gigawatts, and is expected to provide around 460 direct jobs and 130 indirect jobs.
The project is expected to enhance technology transfer and strengthen renewable energy value chains within the SCZONE.
$1.8-Billion Deals
Earlier in the day, and ahead of his tour of the economic zone, the prime minister also witnessed the signing of several agreements and contracts to establish two integrated renewable energy projects and local manufacturing facilities, with total investments exceeding $1.8 billion.

SPC Flooring
Madbouly also inaugurated Egypt’s first factory for the production of high-quality SPC flooring, the KAMSTON project for advanced industries, in Sokhna.
The project involves investments of $8 million and has an annual production capacity of up to 2 million square meters.

The locally manufactured product is characterized by its durability, water resistance, and ease of installation. The project is expected to create around 100 direct jobs.
Food Industries
The prime minister also opened the Maxicano food industries project, with investments of $5 million.
Ahmed Antar, Chairman of Maxicano food industries, said the factory specializes in producing crushed yellow corn flour.

Built on an area of 4,200 square meters, the facility has an annual production capacity of 60,000 tonnes and contributes key production inputs to the food industry. The project is expected to create around 50 direct jobs and 50 indirect jobs.
Water Heaters
Madbouly inaugurated the Chinese-owned Vanward factory for the production of gas water heaters and heat exchangers, with investments exceeding $12 million.

Vanward’s chairman said the factory spans 26,000 square meters and targets the annual production of approximately 500,000 complete water heater units, in addition to 2 million sets of water heater components.
The project is expected to provide around 300 direct jobs.
