CAIRO – 7 January 2026: The foreign ministers of Egypt and Oman met in Cairo on Wednesday, reaffirming their support for a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue in Riyadh to reach a consensual solution to the southern Yemen issue.

This is part of efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting political settlement that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty, unity and stability, while fulfilling the aspirations of its people for security and prosperity, the ministers added.

The ministers reaffirmed their longstanding support for the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and self-determination, including the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They stressed the need to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and Jerusalem, to allow the immediate entry of humanitarian aid and essential services, paving the way for reconstruction and the restoration of dignified living conditions.
