Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, held a telephone conversation with Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan
CAIRO – 4 January 2025: At a telephone conversation with Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of t Pakistan on January 4, 2026, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s intensive efforts to move toward the second phase of the US President’s plan, stressing the need for the full implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolution on Gaza and ensuring safe, sustained, and unhindered access for humanitarian assistance.
He further emphasized the importance of launching early recovery and reconstruction efforts. The Foreign Minister reiterated that achieving a sustainable ceasefire remains a fundamental prerequisite for initiating a serious political process leading to a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue.
The call addressed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and included consultations on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s pride in its relations with Pakistan, commending the significant progress achieved in bilateral ties in recent months, particularly following his official visit to Islamabad in late November. He underscored the importance of building on the outcomes of that visit and continuing joint efforts to advance cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment fields, as well as intensifying engagement between state institutions and the private sectors in both countries.
The discussion also covered developments in Yemen, with both ministers stressing the importance of de-escalation, reducing tensions, and prioritizing dialogue and consensus, while avoiding unilateral actions, in order to contribute to achieving security and stability for the brotherly Yemeni people
