CAIRO – 28 December 2025: Turkish authorities have arrested three members of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is designated as a terrorist organization by Egypt.
The individuals were residing in Turkey and are accused of participating in a campaign aimed at storming Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad, including the Egyptian Consulate in Istanbul.
The three men were arrested on Saturday and are currently awaiting trial. According to Al Arabiya, Turkish authorities have classified them as “terrorists.”
The arrests follow their alleged involvement in a Muslim Brotherhood-led campaign calling for the closure of Egyptian embassies.
In response, younger members of the group based in Istanbul have launched social media campaigns urging Brotherhood leaders and Turkish officials to secure the release of the detainees and prevent their extradition to Cairo.
