El-Sisi outlines Egypt’s vision for restoring regional security in talks with Kurdistan PM

CAIRO – 21 December 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi outlined Egypt’s vision for restoring security and stability in the region during a meeting with Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region Masrour Barzani in Cairo on Sunday.

The two sides exchanged views on several regional issues of mutual concern, with Barzani sharing his assessment of developments in the region.

Barzani praised Egypt’s role in supporting Iraq and restoring peace and stability in the region during the talks.

Egypt’s General Intelligence Service head Hassan Rashad attended the meeting, alongside Kurdistan Region Interior Minister Rebar Ahmed and Head of the Kurdistan Region Intelligence Service Mohsen Kamal.
