CAIRO – 10 December 2025: Foreign Minister and Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs Badr Abdelatty said it was necessary to reach a just and sustainable settlement to the Palestinian issue during his meeting Wednesday with Jason Isaacson, Director General of Policy at the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

He stressed the importance of implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on June 4, 1967 borders, with al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.

During the meeting, Abdelatty reviewed the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, highlighting the joint efforts undertaken by both countries to support security and stability in the Middle East.

The meeting also addressed the situation in the Gaza Strip, where Abdelatty reviewed the ongoing efforts to implement President Donald Trump's plan and solidify the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement.

He emphasized the need for concerted international efforts to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the swift formation of the international stabilization force in Gaza to assume its responsibilities and tasks.

He also stressed the importance of proceeding with the formation of the Palestinian technocratic committee to administer the Gaza Strip and the importance of moving to the second phase of the agreement.

The Egyptian top diplomat also emphasized the importance of ensuring the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, given the deteriorating humanitarian situation, and the urgent need to rebuild the Strip's infrastructure to meet pressing humanitarian needs.

For his part, Isaacson commended Egypt's constructive efforts to ensure the consolidation of the ceasefire in Gaza and its pivotal role in supporting security and stability in the Middle East.
